Start spring off right celebrating Earth Day at the Wilderness Center in Wilmot on Saturday, April 21st.
Events planned for this day long celebration include a Bird Walk with the Center’s Bird Club, bird watchers of all ages and skill levels are invited and a Trail Clean-up. Also on the 21st visit the world in just one day at the Annual Ethnic Fair at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. From 11:00am to 5:00pm your family can explore booths representing the culture of many different counties, sampling exotic foods, learning crafts, dances, languages and customs.
On Tuesday, April 17th from 11:00am to 6:30pm celebrate Earth Day at the OARDC’s Scarlet, Gray and Green Fair. You will learn how to eat sustainably, reduce energy use at home, improve recycling, and learn how to calculate and reduce your carbon footprint, and this just covers a few of the topics that will be covered by speakers and demonstration booths. The Wayne County Home and Garden Show at the Wayne County Fairgrounds takes place April 28th and 29th. With over 200 exhibitors, car and RV displays, children’s activities, craft show and food concessions it promises to entertain everyone in the family. On May 5th we’re back to the OARDC with the 19th Annual Plant Discovery Day and Plant Sale in and around Fisher Auditorium. Come early as every Wayne County gardener knows, the sale and plant auction begin at 9:00am. Experts will be on hand to answer your plant questions and kids will love the bug zoo.
