A contest where both shopper and merchant win!

Three Wayne County groups are uniting to help local merchants compete for business this holiday shopping season and drive shoppers to small locally owned businesses in a “buy local campaign.” The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce, The Wayne County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Main Street Wooster have come together to promote Small Business Saturday, the day after Black Friday, in a contest that will include the entire month of November called #shopsmallwoo.
The rules are simple. Bring your shopping receipts from locally owned Wayne County businesses, totaling $100.00 or more and dated November 1st through November 30th, to either the Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce at 377 W. Liberty St. or The Wayne County Convention & Visitors Bureau at 428 W. Liberty St., both in Downtown Wooster. The receipts will be returned to you and you will be given an entry into the #shopsmallwoo contest. Winning entries will be drawn the week of December 1, 2014. Prizes will be local gift cards or certificates worth at least $50.
Why shop local, you might ask? Small businesses don’t always have the means to promote themselves like the big stores do. This “buy local campaign” helps by igniting interest in local shopping and raising awareness of the shopping opportunities in our own hometowns.
The many small, locally owned Wayne County stores have something for everyone on your list. Our friendly merchants are ready to share their holiday spirit while welcoming you to their stores.
