The concept of the garage sale is nothing new, but making them more popular than ever are the “trash to treasure” shows on the Home and Garden Network and Pinterest. Never before have we had so much fun turning somebody’s old row boat into a coffee table or a weathered screen door into a work of art.

Community Yard Sales can be a lot of fun. Please make sure to park in appropriate places and be mindful when driving through these areas on sale days watching for children, shoppers loaded down with purchases and bargain hunters exiting their vehicles.

If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure with a relaxed, casual pace this spring, the beautiful rural countryside of Ohio’s Amish Country is calling your name. Whether you’re looking for foot trails, bike paths, motorcycle routes, birding destinations or golf courses, the Wayne County Convention & Visitors Bureau is here to help you plan that special get a way.
Spring in Amish Country means the return of the roadside fruit and vegetable stands as well as the migratory birds and water fowl who call the Killbuck Marsh Wildlife area home. The beautiful Secrest Arboretum, on the campus of The Ohio State University, is well-known for their flowering cherry and dogwood trees and boasts miles of well-manicured gardens and trails. Our parks include a 13,000 year old kettle hole bog formed by glaciers and one of the few remaining old-growth forests in Ohio.
You will find our many golf courses challenging and scenic. Be sure to take advantage of the excellent dining options found at many courses. Our bike trails are open to hikers, bikers, and other non-motorized vehicles including horse drawn buggies.
So grab your clubs or binoculars, strap on your helmet or lace up your running shoes and get ready to experience all that Wayne County, Ohio has to offer. Visit us online at wccvb.com or call 800-362-6474 to request a visitor’s guide.
